Checkmate Minna is proud to host its Community Chess Tournament, an event designed to bring chess lovers and enthusiasts together for a rousing tournament. This is your chance to:

Tournament Details
- Date: 20th July, 2024
- Time: 10 A.M. Prompt (Registration starts Now!)
- Location: Hill-Top Creative Arts Foundation, David Mark Road, Maitumbi, Minna, Niger State
- Format & Time Control: The tournament format & time control will be decided on the tournament ground. Players will face opponents of similar skill levels throughout the tournament, ensuring a balanced and engaging challenge. Read about chess tournament formats and time controls
- Registration Fee: ₦2000
Tournament Rules
- We value a respectful and positive environment. All participants are expected to conduct themselves with courtesy and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
- Cheating or any form of unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification.
- Players must adhere to the designated time controls for each round. Manage your time effectively to make strategic decisions and complete your moves within the allotted timeframe.
- In the event of a tie, pre-determined tie-break criteria will be used to determine the winner.
Prizes
- Electronic Certificate of Participation for all participants.
- Certificate Of Recognition for top five (5) performers.
- Medals for the top three (3) performers.
- ₦50,000 + feature on our website for the overall champion.
